Fillip selected to join Google for Startups Accelerator Canada

It’s time to hit the gas.

After a transformative first half of 2022, we’re excited to announce that Fillip has joined this year’s cohort of Google for Startups Accelerator Canada, a three-month program designed to help tech startups take their businesses to the next level.

Launched in 2020, the Canadian iteration of Google’s popular accelerator program has graduated more than 50 startups. Each one receives technical training and special access to Google products free of charge, all geared towards improving their technological offerings and developing business practices geared for growth. Additionally, Google provides hands-on mentorship from more than 20 of its specialized teams, including Android, Google Cloud, and Google Machine Learning.

“We’re excited about what the accelerator will mean for Fillip customers,” says Ted O’Grady, CTO of Fillip. “The team at Google has a deep understanding of analytics and machine learning that will help guide our work on smart payments and fraud detection. These product milestones will provide business owners and fleet operators with the tools they need to improve cash flow and reduce costs.”

Fillip is joining 11 other selected startups from diverse industries including fintech, agtech, beauty, and online retail, hailing from cities across Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver, and Montréal. Past participants in the program have included AI startups like Arkangel AI, healthcare innovators like CurvHealth, and fintech businesses like Homewise

For Fillip CEO Alice Reimer, the program is an opportunity to expand Fillip’s horizons. “Our team is delighted to have the opportunity to work with world class mentors and learn alongside a cohort of like minded companies,” she says. “Mentorship in introducing discipline around things like OKRs will ensure we continue to raise the bar across the organization.”

It’s going to be an exciting couple of months. Keep watching our blog and Instagram for updates. Learn more about Google Startups Accelerator on their website.
